Supply Line Burst in a Mueller Kitchen
Before
AfterThe polybutylene supply line behind the refrigerator let go overnight and ran for roughly six hours before the homeowner came down for coffee. Water had wicked four feet up the drywall and saturated the cabinet bases on the island. We extracted standing water, pulled the affected drywall, and set up a drying array with Dri-Eaz dehumidifiers and Phoenix air movers, running psychrometric drying (tracking the air’s moisture level so we know when your home is truly dry, not just surface-dry) until moisture readings in the studs matched the unaffected rooms. New drywall, insulation, base cabinets, and paint went back in under one scope, and the homeowner approved every line item in writing before we touched a single wall.
Attic Leak and Ceiling Collapse in Allandale
Before
AfterA failed roof boot around a plumbing vent let Austin’s spring storms drip straight onto the living room ceiling until the drywall gave way. The collapse dumped soaked insulation and sheetrock across the couch and hardwood floors. We contained the room, removed the debris, and cut back the ceiling to dry joists before running an Injectidry system inside the wall cavity to dry the interior spaces a standard air mover can’t reach. Once moisture baselines held flat for 48 hours, our crew rebuilt the ceiling, re-insulated, textured, and painted. The homeowner was dealing with their adjuster on the roof portion, and we sent photo documentation and moisture logs directly to the claim so the interior scope never got questioned.
Mold Remediation in a Barton Hills Crawlspace
Before
AfterThe homeowner called about a musty smell that got worse every time the AC kicked on. We traced it to a crawlspace where poor grading and a failed vapor barrier had pushed relative humidity above 70 percent, and mold was blooming across the floor joists. Following IICRC protocol, we set up containment, put the crawlspace under negative pressure, and removed the contaminated insulation before treating the framing with an antimicrobial application. Then we fixed the moisture problem at the source: regraded the exterior, replaced the vapor barrier, and installed a dehumidifier sized for the space. The air quality test came back clean, and the smell was gone inside of a week. Blake Sorensen reviewed the moisture map personally before we signed off on the job.
Water Heater Failure in a Cherrywood Garage

A 12-year-old water heater in a Cherrywood garage split along the bottom seam and dumped 50 gallons across the slab, soaking the shared wall with the laundry room. The water sat for most of a workday before anyone got home. We extracted, pulled the base trim, and drilled the wall cavities to dry them from the inside out with an XPOWER array. The garage slab dried fast, but the wall cavity needed three days of monitoring before we hit dry standard on both sides. New drywall, baseboards, and paint went in, and the homeowner’s plumber set the replacement unit after we cleared the space. Total downtime from first call to finished patchwork: five days.
Dishwasher Leak Under Hardwood in Rosedale

A slow dishwasher drain leak in Rosedale had been weeping under the engineered hardwood for weeks before the planks started cupping at the seams. These jobs are tricky because the subfloor holds moisture long after the surface looks fine. We pulled the dishwasher, set up a floor mat drying system over the affected area, and ran a Phoenix dehumidifier with daily moisture readings to confirm the subfloor actually dried all the way through, not just the top layer. Because the homeowner caught it before the wood rotted, we were able to dry the floor in place and have a flooring tech sand and reseal the cupped planks rather than tearing out and replacing the whole kitchen floor. That’s the difference a written moisture log makes when the adjuster asks why full replacement wasn’t necessary.
Storm Water Intrusion in a Tarrytown Basement

Basements are rare in Austin, but when Tarrytown’s hill country runoff hits a failed window well, the results are the same as anywhere else: standing water, soaked carpet, and drywall wicking moisture up from the base. This one came in at 11 p.m. during a storm that dropped three inches of rain in an hour. A live person answered the call, and our crew was on site before 1 a.m. We extracted, pulled the carpet pad, cut the affected drywall, and set drying equipment with B-Air movers and a dehumidifier before sunrise. Once the dry standard held, we rebuilt the wall, reinstalled carpet, and installed a proper window well cover and drain so the next storm didn’t repeat the job. The homeowner paid exactly the written price from night one, no surprise add-ons.
